As part of the Scottish Government’s commitment to covid recovery in education, Education Scotland now have funding to roll out optional peer coaching, learning and practice, to participants on almost all professional learning programmes.

Today Education Scotland reached out to current and past participants of professional learning programmes to offer the opportunity to take part in the supportive programme.

Last year, early career teachers in the stepping-stones programme were matched up with middle leaders to have structured, confidential conversations about their development using a recognised coaching format. The programme was a success, making a positive impact on the participants and the education system.

By signing up for the programme, participants will be matched with a peer from outside their local authority who will support them to get time and space to think about what you want to achieve in 2022, be listened to, be encouraged and supported, learn skills in how to have fruitful conversations with staff and colleagues, be motivated to dig deep, aim high and achieve those goals, and build their professional networks.

The programme, which starts in January, will last six months and participants will be offered access to a programme of learning that they can access any time, on demand, as well as resources to enable them to coach and be coached.
