Gnìomh ionnsachaidh

Is toigh le clann a bhith ag ionnsachadh agus a’ seinn òrain a tha a’ gabhail a-steach ghnìomhan, dannsa agus modhan diofraichte. Is urrainn do dh’ath-aithris fhacail agus abairtean co-cheangailte ri raon farsaing de cho-theacsaichean, clann a chuideachadh ann a bhith a’ togail briathrachas ùr.  Is urrainn do ghnìomhan agus gluasad le òrain agus rannan a’ chlann a chuideachadh gu bhith a’ cuimhneachadh air facail agus rannan. 

Iarr air clann na h-òrain a dh’ionnsaich iad san sgoil a sheinn do am pàrantan/luchd-cùraim.  Dh’fhaodadh iad an t-òran Gàidhlig as fheàrr leotha a thaghadh agus ‘ionnsachadh’ do am pàrantan/luchd-cùraim.  Iarr air a’ chloinn gnìomhan agus gluasad a chur ris an òran, dh’fhaodadh seo am pàrantan/luchd-cùraim a chuideachadh a bhith a’ cuimhneachadh nam facal.  Dh’fhaodadh iad na h-òrain a dhèanamh còmhla. Dh’fhaodadh iad cuideachd dannsa a dhèanamh a dheigheadh an cois an òrain.  Dh’fhaodadh e a bhith na chuideachadh sreath de dhealbhan agus/no stiùiridhean a chruthachadh.

Me and My Immersion: A song, a dance, a drama

Purpose of the activity

This activity helps children develop their communication and language skills, and enjoyment of singing, dance and drama.

Learning activity

Children enjoy learning and singing songs that involve using actions, dance and different expressions. The repetition of words and phrases relating to a wide range of contexts can help children acquire new vocabulary. Children’s use of actions and movement with songs and rhymes can help them remember words and phrases.

Ask children to sing the songs they learn at school to their parents/carers. They could pick their favourite Gaelic song and ‘teach’ it to their parents/carers. Ask the children to add actions and movement to the song, this may help their parents/carers to remember the words. They could perform the songs together. They could also make up a dance to accompany the song. Creating a series of drawings and/or instructions may help.

Extension activity

Possible approach to assessing learning

Questioning is a key part of good dialogue between practitioner and learner. You could ask children to recall the songs they have learnt and been practising.

Allow children the opportunity to demonstrate their learning in different ways.
