Tha an gnìomh ionnsachaidh seo a’ brosnachadh phàrantan/luchd-cùraim agus clann gu pàirt a ghabhail ann an gnìomhan taobh a-muigh na sgoile mar thaic do am fileantachd ann an Gàidhlig. Gnìomh ionnsachaidh

Tha an gnìomh seo a’ cuideachadh chloinne gu an sgilean conaltraidh is cànain ann an Gàidhlig a leasachadh.

Cuir air adhart gnìomhan Gàidhlig le clann agus am pàrantan leis am faod iad a dhol an sàs taobh a-muigh na sgoile. Dh’fhaodadh seo a bhith a’ toirt a staigh na tha buidhnean Gàidhlig a’ tabhann gu na ghabhas a choimhead air prògraman BBC ALBA. Dh’fhaodadh gum faigh thu tuilleadh smaoineasan an seo:

Curriculum for Excellence (CfE) experiences and outcomes: First level

  • When I engage with others, I know when and how to listen, when to talk, how much to say, when to ask questions and how to respond with respect. (LIT 1-02a)
  • When listening and talking with others for different purposes, I can exchange information, experiences, explanations, ideas and opinions, and clarify points by asking questions or by asking others to say more. (LIT 1-09a)
  • I can communicate clearly when engaging with others within and beyond my place of learning, using selected resources as required. (LIT 1-10a)

Purpose of the activity

To encourage children to include Gaelic conversations in their daily routines out with school.

Learning activity

This activity helps children develop their communication and language skills in Gaelic.

Promote with children and their parents Gaelic activities with which they can engage out with school. This may range from what Gaelic groups offer to what may be watched on BBC ALBA programmes. You may get more ideas here:

Talk to children about what makes a good conversation. They may personalise this to any individual target they may have to help them improve. Here are prompts to consider with children:

  • having an interesting topic to discuss
  • planning main points
  • knowing the Gaelic vocabulary required
  • listen to what the other person says and use this to give a response
  • speak clearly and audibly, and
  • take turns and contribute at the appropriate time.

Ask children to plan and carry out a conversation with friends, families and a Gaelic-speaking buddy on Gaelic activities in which they take part out with school.

Extension activity

Children should be encouraged to have a conversation on a range of topics. This could include a text they have read and why they have enjoyed reading it.

National Benchmarks

  • Incorporates new Gaelic words and phrases into language for audience with accuracy of pronunciation.
  • Shares appropriate ideas, opinions, information and experiences.
  • Takes turns to speak, contributes at the appropriate time.
  • Listens and responds appropriately to the views of others for
    example, by nodding or agreeing, asking and answering questions in a respectful way.

Possible approach to assessing learning

Children should be encouraged to reflect on the prompts on what makes a good conversation. They should use this to reflect on what they did well and what to improve.
