Knowledge and research

Find research based publications, knowledge into action briefings, thought pieces and research links. You may find these a useful starting point in getting to grips with the evidence base and supporting your reflective practice.

This is not a definitive list of publications. Currently, many articles focus on how poverty affects educational attainment, and what schools and others can do to tackle this. If you are aware of any freely-available research publications which you think could be added to this section, please email AnalyticalServices@educationscotland.gsi.gov.uk

Many of these links will take you to third party websites. If you are planning to use the research in any way, please acknowledge the authors and commissioners of the research.
