How to use this resource to improve practice

The information on the Childline website could be used by staff to ensure that they are providing the right support for young people who are, think they might be, or have a girlfriend who is pregnant, and to develop their own school practices to support these young people.

  • Are teaching and support staff aware of this website and the information and advice on pregnancy that it provides?
  • Are  learners made aware of this site?
  • Are there aspects of this content which could be included in PSHE?
  • In what way are staff aware of pregnancy and maternity as a protected characteristic?
  • Do they take steps to ensure discrimination does not take place for any young women who are pregnant?
