Summer challenge – registration plate game

What is this?

This year, the school summer holiday may be a bit  different for all of us. You may not be doing the things that you usually plan to do.

If you are looking for a fun activity that you can do as a family during the summer months, you may wish to try this.

Turn a simple walk into an enjoyable game for all the family.

Have you ever taken notice of car registration plates? You can use these to support a whole variety of games for which your children could use Gaelic:

  • Play eye-spy by looking out for specific letters or numbers. See how many words beginning with each letter you can think of in Gaelic.
  • Create words from the letters on the registration plate. Should a registration plate have a letter that is not in the Gaelic alphabet, select another letter to help you create a word in Gaelic.

Use numbers to create sums ( e.g. adding/multiplying the number from one plate to the number on another.)
