Keeping fit 2 - primary 2-7

What is this?

Different people choose different ways of keeping fit and healthy. Going for a short walk or run in your local community or doing exercise at home are two easy ways to do this.

For children in P2/P3/P4

  • Make an activity or exercise plan for the week. Think about the different types of exercise you might do – for example, skipping, walking, running or jumping.
  • Each day, write down the time you start your exercise and the time you finish your exercise.
  • Use ‘am’ for a time before 12 noon. Use ‘pm’ for a time after 12 noon.
  • Work out how long you exercise for each day.

For children in P5/P6/P7

  • Plan to do some exercise every day. You might go for a walk or run, do some skipping, cycling or some other type of exercise.
  • Each day write down the time you start your exercise and the time you finish your exercise.
  • Write these times using both 12 hour and 24 hour time.
