In April 2017, Education Scotland commissioned an expert Scots Language practitioner to visit three primary and three secondary schools to observe the learning and teaching of Scots as part of Curriculum for Excellence (CfE). This report outlines the good practice observed during the visits and the positive impact for learners.
This report will be of particular interest to teachers and senior leaders in primary and secondary schools. It will also be of interest to local authority officers with responsibility for literacy and 1+2 implementation.
Teachers and senior leaders in primary and secondary schools should read the report and consider the following challenge questions.
Local authority officers with responsibility for literacy and 1+2 implementation can consider the same questions in the wider local authority context.
