National Child Sexual Exploitation Awareness Day

The National Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) Awareness Day is on Monday 18th March 2019. It aims to:

  • highlight the issues around child sexual exploitation
  • encourage everyone to think, spot and speak out against abuse
  • adopt a zero tolerance to adults developing inappropriate relationships with children, or children developing inappropriate relationships with other children

Child sexual exploitation is a form of sexual abuse that involves a person(s) of any age taking advantage of a power imbalance to force or entice a child or young people under the age of 18 into sexual activity.

Further information for parents on child sexual exploitation, how to spot the signs and report abuse can be found on the Stop CSE website.
