Parental Involvement and Engagement National Census

Scottish Government wants to further improve and increase the ways in which parents, carers and families can work with staff and practitioners to support their children and young people’s learning. Increasing the voice of parents and carers in leading improvements within settings/schools is also a key priority. To help achieve this, Scottish Government, in partnership with local government, developed the ‘Learning together: national action plan on parental involvement, engagement, family learning and learning at home 2018 – 2021'.

Gathering the opinions and feedback from parents to evaluate progress and help shape local planning, decision-making and influence national priorities is one of the actions within the plan. Results from the Parental Involvement and Engagement National Census conducted in May/June 2019 can be found here.
