Education recovery and support from outdoor education centres
Support from outdoor education centres
Many outdoor education centres have been negatively impacted by the pandemic and the reduced frequency of visits from schools and other educational settings. The Scottish Government is keen to support these centres during this challenging time - not only their staff and local economies but also to help ensure that children and young people can continue to access the unique benefits that these centres provide.
This page contains information, templates, contacts and advice to help education establishments consider and plan work with centres in a safe and appropriate way. All of the advice and information contained in the materials is subject to the specific COVID-19 local protection level which applies in your area. This package of information has been agreed with both COSLA and the Association of Directors of Education in Scotland (ADES).
In addition to this package of support materials, the Scottish Government has also launched a new £2 million fund to support residential outdoor education centres affected by the pandemic.
