Netherthird Primary School and Early Childhood Centre – children’s learning experiences during the recovery phase
At Netherthird Primary School and Early Childhood Centre (ECC) in East Ayrshire Council, HM Inspectors noted that children in the early childhood centre experienced interesting and motivating learning activities and creative contexts for learning, including use of outdoor spaces.
A sketchnote was published in February which captured some of this work. Additionally, the headteacher developed a blog which tells how staff have developed meaningful contexts for children to learn in the Early Childhood Centre and using outdoor spaces.
The recovery update reflects on how Netherthird Primary School and ECC have developed children’s learning experiences during lockdown and how, in the recovery year, they have further developed their use of outdoor spaces.
