Improvement questions
- How well do we ensure that all children feel safe, healthy, achieving, nurtured, active, respected, responsible and included?
- How confident are education staff in tackling disability bullying and hate crime?
These lessons provide educators with a suite of online, interactive resources that have been designed with videos and animations from pre-school through to Primary 7.

Secondary: I Am Me
I Am Me is an online, interactive platform for secondary schools, including a video library and lessons for hate crime awareness.
Secondary: Hate
This interactive on-line learning resource, aimed at students and young people from S3 onwards, has been developed by I Am Me Scotland in collaboration with Police Scotland and the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS), Scotland’s prosecution service.
Hate crime is any crime that is perceived by the victim, or any other person witnessing an incident, to be motivated, wholly or in part, by hostility towards a social group. Hate crime falls into five categories:
- disability
- race
- religion
- sexual orientation
- transgender identity
The ‘You Judge’ resources encourages students and young people to consider the causes and consequences of hate crime on the victims, their families and friends, as well as how the outcome affects the lives of the perpetrators of such crimes.
