The Responding to bullying resource has been created by Scotland's anti-bullying service Respect Me. It can be used as part of learning about bullying behaviour. It is suitable to be used with class-sized groups of children aged 10 to 16.

The activity can be completed in around 45 minutes. For younger pupils, the session can be spilt over several sessions. It can also be delivered with smaller groups of young people.

What you will learn

The lesson has been designed to enable children and young people to:

  • understand what bullying is and what they can do if it is happening to them or someone they know
  • recognise that there isn’t one single solution that will work in every situation
  • explore what options there are for dealing with bullying
  • define the pros and cons of these different options
  • explore what choices might work best for individuals

The resource includes a YouTube video: Bullying: What can I do?

The learning and outcomes of this resource are linked to health and wellbeing outcomes.
