Artificial Intelligence in Schools Week

Scottish AI in Schools Week  is from Monday 25 to Friday 29 March 2024. Events will bring together teachers, agencies, and organisations from across Scotland. The events will raise awareness of artificial intelligence (AI). They will include examples of how AI can improve learning, teaching, and assessment.

There will be several online sessions throughout the week for practitioners and learners.

AI Wonderland - Monday 25 March, 10am to 11am

Join us on a magical journey into the world of Artificial Intelligence. In this interactive talk, we’ll explore the wonders of AI, discover what we can trust, and embark on a creative adventure through poems and art.

AI from Tinder to training - Monday 25 March, 4:30pm to 5:15pm

Join Joe Wilson from City of Glasgow College for this professional learning session looking at how we need to change policies and practice to make ethical use of Artificial Intelligence in teaching, learning and assessment.

Teaching for Digital Citizenship - Tuesday 26 March, 4pm to 4:45pm

Join David Lundie from the University of Glasgow for this professional learning session. His interactive workshop focuses on work to co-design resources to help young people recover a sense of autonomy as they navigate increasingly complex digital challenges in their lives.

AI maze: finding the ethical exit - Wednesday 27 March, 11am to 12pm

This session will focus on the ethical dilemmas in Artificial Intelligence. Through engaging discussions and team activities, participants will tackle real-world scenarios, fostering critical thinking and ethical awareness in the digital age.

ScotAI24 Common Sense Education - Wednesday 27 March, 4pm to 4:45pm

Celebrate Scottish Artificial Intelligence in Schools Week with Jennifer Ehehalt, Sr. Regional Manager at Common Sense Education, as she showcases how AI literacy will impact our ability to consumer, create and participate in digital spaces in an ethical manner.

Code Along: Build with AI - Thursday 28 March, 11am ti 12pm

In this code along, you and your learners will make a character that reacts to what you say.

Daydream Believers: The power of generative AI - Thursday 28 March, 2pm to 4:45pm

Join this interactive online workshop to discover the transformative power of Generative Artificial Intelligence (Gen AI) in education. Tailored for educators keen to bring Gen AI into their classrooms, this session will guide you through leveraging Gen AI for project-based learning, fostering creativity, and refining the art of learning through trial and error.
