Lots of support is available for learners on results day

On Tuesday 5 August, almost 150,000 learners across Scotland will receive their SQA results.

All learners will have their results certificate delivered to their home address on Tuesday 5 August. Those who have signed-up for and activated their MySQA account will also receive their results by text and/or email the same morning.

We have pulled together the following useful information for learners on results day.

The Skills Development Scotland (SDS) Results Helpline number is 0808 100 8000.

Whatever your results, you have options. SDS delivers Scotland’s career service. SDS provide support to learners, and their parents and carers, at what can be an uncertain time.

This helpline goes live at 8am on results day, Tuesday 5 August, until 5pm, Friday 8 August 2025. You can talk to SDS's expert careers advisers about course vacancies at colleges and universities, Confirmation and Clearing, and get advice about Foundation, Modern, and Graduate Apprenticeships, jobs, volunteering, or staying on at school.

SDS careers advisers are at the end of the phone to help young people and their parents and carers.

There's also lots of results support on Scotland's career website, My World of Work – it’s packed with advice, information and resources.

If you would prefer to speak to someone in person, you can visit an SDS centre or community venue to talk to a careers adviser about your results and next steps. No appointment is necessary. Contact Skills Development Scotland to find out what is close to you.

BSL users can use Contact Scotland BSL for support to speak to an adviser. You can use their app to sign with an interpreter who will make the phone call for you.

The SQA Candidate Advice Line number is 0345 279 1000.

If you have a question about your certificate, SQA’s Candidate Advice Line can help – they’re taking calls from 8am on results day. More information is available on the SQA website.

SQA Appeals Service

If you’re concerned by any of your grades on results day, you may want to consider an appeal.

Did you know that the service is free? You can also prioritise your appeal if you have a conditional place at a college, university or training provider.
