Travelling communities
If your child is from one of Scotland's travelling communities, there will be many traditions that are important to them and to you. Staff at your child's school should be aware of this and will work to support your child and respect their traditions. Contact your child’s school and talk to them about any concerns you might have about this.
If your family moves around the country, your child may attend a number of schools. They will need to adjust to these moves and to the way that each of their schools operates.
How can I help?
- Get involved with your child's school as much as possible.
- Encourage your child to make friends.
- Help with homework.
- Talk about what's going on.
- Prepare for any changes.
