Supporting learners with Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) results

On Tuesday 8 August 2023, thousands of young people across Scotland will receive the results for their Nationals, Highers, Advanced Highers, National Progression Awards, Skills for Work Awards, National Certificates and Awards.

All learners will have their results certificate delivered to their home address by first class post on Tuesday 8 August. Those who have signed-up for and activated their MySQA account will also receive their results by text and/or email the same morning.

The Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) Candidate Advice Line opening hours are:

  • Tuesday 8 August, 8:00 am to 6:00 pm,
  • Wednesday 9 August to Friday 11 August, 8:30am to 5:00 pm.

The SQA helpline number is 0345 279 1000.

Skills Development Scotland (SDS) helpline

Skills Development Scotland (SDS) are providing a results helpline for dedicated results support. The helpline offers advice to young people, parents and carers.

Expert advisers will be available to provide Information, guidance and support. You can talk to careers advisers about:

  • course vacancies at UK colleges and universities
  • confirmation and clearing advice
  • Foundation, Modern and Graduate apprenticeships
  • jobs
  • volunteering
  • staying on at school

The SDS Results helpline number is 0808 100 8000.

Further advice, information and resources are available on the My World of Work website. You can also visit an SDS centre or community venue to talk to a careers adviser about your results and next steps. No appointment is necessary.

British Sign Language (BSL)

BSL users can use Contact Scotland BSL for support in speaking to an adviser. You can use their app to sign with an interpreter who will make the phone call for you.
