My name is Emily Govan and I am Principal Teacher at Pencaitland Primary School in East Lothian. I have always been interested in different theories and pedagogies underlying effective practice in learning and teaching and how I can best work with my team to achieve this. I developed my leadership skillset by undertaking various SCEL modules online and by completing Local Authority Middle Leadership courses, both of which I enjoyed immensely. I wanted to deepen this understanding and successfully applied for a place at the University of Edinburgh to complete my PG Certificate in Middle Leadership and Management. I have absolutely loved my learning journey so far and hope that you find it helpful to hear a little bit about the course.
