Leadership of Highly Effective Learning, Teaching and Assessment

The course will be delivered by the Education Support officer (Learning, Teaching and Assessment) and senior officers from within North Lanarkshire Council.

As part of the programme, participants will be asked to identify, undertake, and report on a change initiative within their North Lanarkshire’s leadership framework has gone through a considerable scrutiny process and has successfully been endorsed by Education Scotland. As part of the programme, participants will be asked to identify, undertake and report on a change initiative within their establishment.

The aims of the programme are:

  • To provide a high-quality professional learning programme
  • To facilitate a collaborative network between practitioners
  • To develop pedagogical skills and practice
  • To introduce a ‘Train the Trainer’ model

The expected outcomes of the programme are:

  • Staff that are reflective and capable of leading learning effectively
  • Staff that can effectively lead learning and drive forward effective learning, teaching and assessment
  • Staff that recognise the importance of high-quality learning, teaching and assessment for children and young people
  • Staff will develop stronger teacher professional judgement by working collaboratively/moderating with colleagues

Open to all teaching staff from any sector across Scotland.

The cost of this programme is £250 per candidate and involves 10 core twilight sessions.

The sessions will be delivered digitally.
