Microsoft Education Center and Microsoft Innovative Educator

The Microsoft Educators Center provides a range of courses at a range of levels designed to support educators from around the world on the integration of technology in the classroom.

The courses are based on the OECD Standards and some also show alignment to International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) standards.

These courses are also presented in thematic collections called Learning Pathways. Themes include supporting remote learning, student centred learning and the inclusive classroom. The Inclusive Classroom Foundation Pathway states: 'Empowering every student to achieve more means each student must have access to the content to best meets their needs. The courses in this path will prepare teachers to meet the needs of all learners in the classroom.'

While doing these courses you may also collect badges, certificates and points. After achieving 1000 points you automatically become a Microsoft Innovative Educator (MIE) and can then apply to become a MIE Expert by submitting a reflective video or Sway.

The Microsoft Educator Center provides on-demand courses that focus on integrating technology into your teaching, and how to use tools like OneNote, Teams and Office 365. You can choose to focus on the use of common digital tools available across Scotland via Glow.

Teachers then become part of a regional, national and global community of educators.

The courses are aimed at teachers striving to find new ways to engage their pupils.

Courses are provided on demand with varying lengths of study. From 1 hour (500 point) courses to 36.5 hours for the longest Pathway.
