Sharing learning through practitioner enquiry

Published 25/07/2024.  Last updated 02/08/2024

As part of an enquiry process we should be able to evidence and share our learning. There are many different ways that you could do this but the important thing is to be succinct. Think about what information others would find helpful to reflect on their practice in their context.

Sharing the learning event

Join other enquiring practitioners across Scotland to share your learning and hear about the work of others.

Our sharing event will take place online on Wednesday 28 May 2025 from 1pm to 4pm.

Further details and sign up here.

Share your work to receive a certificate

An enquiry poster is a good way to illustrate your enquiry but you may prefer to use Sway, PowerPoint or even a video.  We will review your enquiry and share your posters on this page and receive an Education Scotland completion certificate.

The following are four simple questions that can help you to draw together your thinking about your enquiry and share it with others.

  1. What did you plan to do and why?
  2. What has happened in your enquiry?
  3. What are the implications and next steps?
  4. What impact has this has this had on your own professional identity?

It can also be helpful to share the research and reading links too.

Share your enquiry poster

If you would like to share your learning with us and with educators across Scotland through this page we ask that you complete the enquiry poster template and send it to professional learning submissions.

Please ensure that the title of your email is 'Enquiry in Education' as the inbox is also used for other submissions.

Please send your completed enquiry poster template ensuring that you have also completed the submission questions on the first page.

We hope to publish the posters on our website to inspire others, so please don't include your name or setting on the poster unless you're happy with this being shared.

We review any enquiries submitted at the end of each month. If you have covered the four questions outlined above you will have met the submission criteria. This is described in more detail on the poster template.

We will then publish them and send you a completion certificate for your professional learning portfolio.
