National Occupational Standards for Family Learning
The National Occupational standards (NOS) are individual measures of competence for education professionals. They are grouped together based on which sector they relate to.

Developing strategy and quality assurance
Strategy and quality assurance standards for family learning include:
- FL01:Monitor and evaluate the impact of trends and developments
- FL02: Establish quality procedures in your area of responsibility
- INSML055: Provide healthy, safe and secure working environments and practices
Planning for learning and curriculum development
Planning and curriculum development standards for family learning include:
- FL03: Promote a culture that values diversity and difference
- FL04: Provide physical equipment, resources and surroundings that meet participant’s needs
- FL05: Take responsibility for the safety and security of participants and environments
Engaging and supporting learners
Standards for engaging and supporting learners include:
- FL06: Provide publicity and information about Family Learning programmes
- FL07: Recruit participants onto Family Learning
- FL08: Build and maintain effective relationships with families to ensure a learner centred approach
- FL09: Build and maintain relationships with the wider community
- FL10: Work with families who find services difficult to access
- FL11: Enable access to future learning and development opportunities
