Improving School Attendance project - Dundee City Council

The 'Improving School Attendance project' is delivered by Dundee City Council, specifically within the Camperdown Primary School and St Clement’s Primary School. It is facilitated by school and family development workers and is targeted towards children and families within this urban setting.

Focusing on Primary 5 to Primary 7 children, the staff deliver morning group work sessions that are enjoyable for children and young people with barriers to attendance or consistent late coming to create a “pull to school” affect.

This is an ongoing project that has been running for years, funded by Pupil Equity Fund (PEF) and core budgets within the school. Due to the presenting need, staff availability and core funding, this project is sustainable at present however as it is partially funded with PEF money this needs to be acknowledged
