The Alternative Curriculum - Glasgow City Council

The ‘Alternative Curriculum’ is delivered by Glasgow Life Community Learning and Development (CLD) youth work team. It is an alternative curriculum for young people aged 14-15 years with little or no attendance at school who were also causing disruption in the community and at risk of offending.

The ‘Alternative Curriculum’ provides young people with learning opportunities in community settings, in parallel with their school-based timetable. The project was established by young people having contact with youth workers delivering outreach services in the community. The project is sustainable as it is funded and resourced by core CLD staff and budgets.
