Education Scotland announces support for National Numeracy Day 2022

National Numeracy day will be taking place on 18 May 2022 and Education Scotland have been announced as lead delivery partners.

National Numeracy Day raises awareness of the importance of numbers in everyday life and empowers children and adults to improve their number confidence through a variety of free, fun and practical resources.

Education Scotland have been lead delivery partners for National Numeracy Day since it started in 2018. The 2021 event saw hundreds of people taking part from all across Scotland ranging from adult education providers through to Colleges, Schools and Early Years Providers to make it the biggest yet.

Speaking about national Numeracy day, Chief Executive and HM Chief Inspector of Education Gayle Gorman said: “We are delighted to be a Lead Delivery Partner of National Numeracy Day, the UK’s only annual day dedicated to everyday maths. On 18 May, alongside the charity National Numeracy, we want to help children and adults feel confident about numbers at home, work and school.

There will be a host of free online resources and videos including inspirational stories and practical advice from real-life learners and celebrities. From helping us get on at work, to supporting children, or making our money go further, brushing up on our number confidence and skills can help.”
