New Critical Conversations feature for SLF Online

Published 03/09/2021.  Last updated 12/04/2023

With less than three weeks to go until SLF Online we have updated the conference programme to include a brand new Critical Conversations feature, hosted by Sarah Philp, the co-host of the popular podcast Changing Conversations.

These facilitated conversations will take place during SLF Online, with up to five different expert panel members each night, from 5.45 – 6.45 pm. The panel will include classroom teachers, academics, representatives from professional associations and Directors of Education, all chosen based on their experience and expertise, or their role within their organisation.

The themes are:

  • Tuesday – Curriculum
  • Wednesday – Empowerment / Agency
  • Thursday – Leadership

The conversations will be an opportunity to share valuable ideas and perspectives, and will invite dialogue around the tough and complex questions that education in Scotland is facing right now.

We expect these sessions to challenge ways of thinking and provide a space for open and honest discussion. Attendees will be able to ask questions of the panel during the events.

Host Sarah Philp has a passion for change, improvement and growth. With an MA in Psychology and an MSc in Educational Psychology, Sarah is a qualified supervisor, coach and yoga teacher, and co-host of the popular podcast Changing Conversations.

Sarah said: “Conversation is one of the oldest ways to nurture the conditions for growth and improvement. When we talk about what matters, we come alive and conversation has the power to guide us into new and different actions that offer the potential for great things.”

Other panel members will be announced on our social media channels in the coming days.

The full conference programme is now complete and all the latest information on sessions, including speakers, is being updated daily as presenters are confirmed.

You can register for SLF Online and Critical Conversations by visiting the SLF website. If you have already registered, you will have received an email with a direct link. If you click on this link, your registration page will be uploaded with your previous details and you can add Critical Conversations to your sessions.
