Statement in relation to Her Majesty The Queen

Along with the rest of the country, everyone at Education Scotland is deeply saddened to learn of the death of Her Majesty the Queen.

Gayle Gorman, His Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Education in Scotland said: “On behalf of everyone at Education Scotland, I would like to express my deepest sympathy to the royal family on the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.

“All our HM Inspectors were formally appointed by Her Majesty, as was I, as HM Chief Inspector of Education in Scotland and it has been an honour to serve her in this capacity.”
