Digital Leadership Programme

This course is designed to support the empowerment agenda enabling participants to use self-evaluation processes to lead on digital developments across their establishment. They will engage in tailored development opportunities to enhance leadership and management skills and knowledge.

This course is a new addition to the leadership programme and is part of the development of the Digital School. As with all elements of the leadership programme, participants will be asked to identify, undertake and report on a change initiative within their own establishment.

The aims of the programme are:

  • to develop leadership across practitioners
  • to provide a pathway for teachers to allow them to advance in their profession through critical thinking and reflection
  • to ensure sustainability and build the capacity of future leaders within the service
  • to discuss and reflect issues pertinent to becoming an effective leader, focusing on Digital Learning and Teaching
  • to consider digital developments within Scottish Education.

Class teachers, principal teachers and newly appointed deputy headteachers developing digital learning across a department / faculty / school.

The course format involves 10 twilight sessions, commencing on September 20th 2023 and ending in March 2024. The majority of sessions are online but some sessions / workshops will also be offered in person. Applications to the programme must be received by September 8th 2023.
