This programme will be of most interest to senior local authority managers responsible for CLD services, who have identified CLD leadership as an area for professional development. This includes managers with no, or little previous experience of CLD; and those interested in developing their leadership capital and professional network.

This programme will provide learning opportunities through a four day online programme with an emphasis on weaving knowledge and research into a reflective applied approach. A collaborative learning network will be established amongst participants enabling additional opportunities for action learning and peer coaching.

The programme takes a focus on CLD policy and practice, CLD values and beliefs, and relevant research. It also includes sessions led by the CLD Standards Council, Scottish Government policy colleagues and experienced CLD leaders.

The intended learning outcomes are that participants will:

• have a clear understanding and knowledge of current CLD research, policy and practice
• enhance their understanding of effective leadership skills and attributes in a CLD context
• engage in critical reflection about their own leadership practice, both individually and in small groups.

The programme is facilitated online with an emphasis on building a learning community across participants. The participants are expected to engage in a bridging task between sessions and to connect with each other to support their ongoing learning and reflection throughout the programme.
