Full-time or part-time programmes are available.

• Part-time programmes are normally studied over a three to five year period
• Full-time programmes are normally studied over one academic year.

Course structure

To achieve a full Masters programme you need to successfully complete 180 credits at level 11. A PG Diploma is 120 credits and a PG Certificate is 60 credits.

Prior learning

The MEd Leadership and Learning is designed as a specific pathway for those who completed PGDE ITE with Masters credits.

It is possible to use Level 11 credits achieved from relevant PG certificates to gain Advanced Standing against part of the MEd programme. We welcome applications for Advanced Standing for study undertaken at either the University of Edinburgh or other universities.

Prior credit may also be considered on other Masters programmes and this should be discussed with the Programme Director.
