CLD Standards Council Scotland
The CLD Standards Council is the professional body for people who work or volunteer in Community Learning and Development.

General Teaching Council Scotland
GTCS plays a significant role in supporting and promoting teacher professionalism at all stages in a teacher’s career. This is manifest not only in the development of the Professional Standards, through Professional Update and professional learning as identified above, but also through other key areas of work. The principles underpinning teacher professionalism inform and are embedded in:
- the expectations for registration with GTCS
- the requirements for and accreditation of programmes for initial teacher education
- the Teacher Induction Scheme
- GTC Scotland’s approach to Fitness to Teach as part of its regulatory role.

Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC)
SSSC protects the public by registering social service workers, setting standards for their practice, conduct, training and education and by supporting their professional development. They:
- publish the national codes of practice for people working in social services and their employers
- register people working in social services and make sure they adhere to the SSSC Codes of Practice
- promote and regulate the learning and development of the social service workforce
- are the national lead for workforce development and planning for social services in Scotland.

Scottish Professional Learning Network
The Scottish Professional Learning Network (originally called the National CLPL Network) was launched in March 2013 as the successor to the National CPD Network. The Network brings together local authority officers, universities and other national partners in a community which offers mutual support and benefit to its members.
