This is for practitioners from all educational sectors looking to lead on policy development.

The programme will benefit practitioners looking to develop leadership skills and increase understanding and confidence in relation to equalities.

The programme will contribute to whole-setting approaches to equalities work (e.g. preventing and responding to Gender-based Violence, anti-racist education and LGBT inclusion) and connects to key priorities such as Rights Respecting Schools, UNCRC.

Participants will be supported to:

• co-create an equalities policy with learners using the Equalities Policy Roadmap
• analyse establishment data through an equalities lens
• gather and meaningfully centre learner perspectives on equalities issues
• use evidence to inform policy development
• plan for sustainability, communication and ongoing review of policies

• Session 7 - Showcasing Policies and Planning for Sustainability
  3 June 2027 4 to 5pm

Participants are expected to attend as many of these sessions as possible to successfully complete the programme, obtain their certificate and have their policy featured as a case study.

The programme includes takeaway tasks, access to additional resources, and opportunities for networking and collaboration.

Participants who complete the programme will be invited to submit their policy to be featured on the Equalities Policy Guide resource page.

This programme is relevant to education practitioners of all sectors.

Practitioners can sign up for the Equalities Policy Professional Learning Programme 2026-2027.

Practitioners will be sent Teams links to all sessions prior to the first session, as well as more information about the upcoming sessions and any pre-reading.

Practitioners will be given the opportunity to join the Glow network space where they can access resources and information, additional support and collaborate with other practitioners. Glow email address required.
