The Coaching in Education (CiE) learning network is a national online community that supports educators who use coaching approaches in their practice. 

The network brings together practitioners from across Scotland. By joining, they can learn, share and grow through coaching.

Our purpose

The CiE learning network aims to:

• create a dynamic and sustainable national collaborative learning network for coaching in education, shaped by educators’ needs
• increase engagement with, and build upon, existing open access coaching resources
• support the sharing of effective practice and highlight the impact that coaching has within educational settings
• provide ongoing professional learning opportunities through online network meetings each term

Who the network is for

The CiE learning network is open to any educator in Scotland who either:

• uses coaching approaches in their current context
• has started their coaching journey through our Introduction to Coaching programme or through other CiE professional learning activities and resource.

How we connect

The network launched in September 2025. It’s meets once per term in a live online session.

These sessions offer opportunities to:

• explore practice and collaborate with colleagues
• develop confidence in applying coaching approaches

Sessions for 2027 will take place on:

1. Tuesday 6 October 2026, 16:00 – 17:30
2. Wednesday 18 November 2026, 16:00 – 17:30
3. Monday 25 January 2027, 16:00 – 17:30
4. Tuesday 23 March 2027, 16:00 – 17:30

Our learning space

Between live sessions, members will have access to an online collaboration space. They can use this to:

• connect with colleagues
• share ideas and examples of practice
• access updates and opportunities

We also provide monthly learning prompts like:

• a short read
• video or audio clip paired with a reflective question

Learning prompts are designed to:

• spark conversation
• support continued professional learning across the network
