Education Scotland Corporate Plan for 2026 to 2031: Our strategic priorities for 2026 to 2031

Our strategic priorities connect national priorities and evidence from research and stakeholder insight, setting out clear objectives for what we aim to achieve over the next five years. These are underpinned by our values and principles of using evidence-informed approaches and best value.

Education Scotland’s three strategic objectives for 2026 to 2031 are:

  1. Coherent, inclusive curriculum: We will work with partners to enable a coherent, inclusive curriculum that is clearly understood and confidently put into practice across all stages of learning.

  2. Leadership of learning and system coherence: We will work with partners to strengthen coherence and sustainable leadership of learning at all levels across the system.

  3. Organisational performance, culture and impact: We will continue to build organisational performance and culture to maximise our impact.
