This resource will support and challenge you to become confident in leading an enquiry in your context and to develop against your professional standards.

There are two optional opportunities to find out more about enquiry. These provide an opportunity to learn with and from other practitioners.

Introduction to enquiry online sessions

Introduction to Enquiry online workshops consider:

  • why we enquire and reflect on our professional why
  • what enquiry is and consider examples of enquiry
  • how we enquire
  • professional learning resources that support enquiry
  • our own ideas and areas of focus for enquiry questions

There are three opportunities to attend this live national workshop throughout the academic year.

We have also recorded the workshop in two parts:

Session dates and links

  1. Thursday 5 September 2024: 4pm to 6pm

  2. Monday 28 October 2024: 4pm to 6pm

  3. Wednesday 15 January 2025: 4pm to 6pm

Resource for leading professional learning

The introduction to enquiry workshop resource is a ready to use PowerPoint. It provides a planned workshop for anyone leading professional learning with colleagues in their school, setting or local authority.

It follows the same plan as the live national workshops outlined above and can be adapted to your local context. You can facilitate the workshop at any time.

The resource:

  • is downloadable and can be tailored to suit your needs 
  • includes suggested facilitation guides and timings 
  • is planned with a range of activities to increase knowledge, skills and confidence 
  • has been informed by the national model of professional learning and is mapped to the relevant professional standards

We hope that this resource reduces planning and preparation time, allowing leaders to focus on facilitating impactful professional learning experiences.
