Scotland’s Equity Toolkit can be directly accessed through the Thinglink, which includes an overview of content within each section and a short video on how to navigate the resource.

Purpose

Scotland’s Equity Toolkit aims to provide an accessible and adaptable resource for local and sectoral needs to support the refreshed mission of the Scottish Attainment Challenge.

The toolkit has been designed to support practitioners in their practice and decision making by providing access to a range of evidence, research and practice, and importantly identify the conditions contributing to success in one place. It includes key information which may be helpful to consider or guide implementation and sustainability in different settings.

The toolkit is underpinned by existing research and evidence. It and will be reviewed and updated regularly to ensure high quality information that is relevant and impactful.

Improvement questions

  • How effectively do we use data across establishments, local authorities and regions to encourage collaboration to achieve equity?
  • How are we ensuring that children and young people have the necessary information in order to make informed choices and decisions around poverty and equity?
  • To what extent are we considering and ensuring long-term sustainability as part of our planning to achieve equity?

Scotland’s Equity Toolkit was launched as a prototype or DRAFT in 2022. A public consultation was launched as part of the service design approach to developing the resource.
